Attention is retention

“Pay attention!” It’s a phrase we’ve all heard our entire lives. While it sounds so simple, it is difficult for many of us to do. We all have a hard time focusing our attention. Often, it’s because of distractions. In the beauty business, attention is retention. So you have to learn how to focus 100% on your guest.

When you are with a guest, don’t:
– Answer any phone calls.
– Let your cellphone ring.
– Talk to other clients.
– Gossip or pay attention to other guests.

Make it a habit to consciously listen. Your guests will feel special and want to spend time with you again. People like to spend time with and patronize those that make them feel good. The simplest way to ensure that your guest wants to spend time with you is to pay attention.

When you focus your attention, you stay in the moment with your guest. Trust us; your guest will be highly aware of it.
