Best Practice: Create Authentic Beauty
I believe that it is important to share the best of what I have learned with others. By doing so, I hope to provide you with an advantage over those who have to learn everything for themselves. This Best Practice Series focuses on points that I believe lead to success in the beauty industry. These are the fundamentals that I used to expand my company from 1 salon to 4. We use these methods every day to grow and prosper. – Eric Fisher
Create Authentic Beauty
You might be asking yourself, what exactly is authentic beauty? While there isn’t a formal definition of authentic beauty out there, to us, authentic beauty means bringing out the features unique to that person. It’s not about creating a cookie-cutter standard. Every person is beautiful in their own way.
To help create authentic beauty for your clients, don’t suggest add-ons just to boost your ticket. Instead, make recommendations that help them look and feel better. During your consultations, asking yourself these questions:
- What colors can you use to enhance their skin tone?
- What shapes can you use to complement their face shape?
- What techniques can you use to accentuate their features?
It takes time and intentionality to develop your eye on how to bring out your guest’s authentic self, but it is worth it! There is nothing better than when your guest stands a little taller, smiles a little bigger and walks more confidently after their appointment. Make a difference in your guest’s life by focusing on authentic beauty.
So, how do you develop your eye? Start by looking at magazines, social media, or people in public. Truly look at the person and identify at least one feature that you would want to enhance for their authentic beauty. Then come up with a service you would recommend to achieve the result.
