Without further ado, here’s the latest business tip.

how to ask for referrals

Did you know, 85% of new customers come from existing customers?  Referrals are one of the best ways to generate new business. Nothing is better than a satisfied customer – and second to that is a referral from a satisfied customer!

Nothing beats your client saying great things about you. The best kind of new clients are those who have heard someone else talk about your amazing skills, abilities and services. This kind of endorsement is like gold.

You might find it uncomfortable asking your clients for help, but it’s so important! Believe it or not, asking for help makes you seem more human and creates a connection between you and your client.

So – simply ask! Ask your clients to help you build your business. You can say something like this:

“Mary, I have really enjoyed getting to know you and doing your hair. I would love to build my business with people just like you. If you would recommend me to your friends and family, I would really appreciate it.”

the challenge

Practice asking for referrals. Give yourself this challenge. Today, ask JUST ONE client to refer their friends and family to you. Tomorrow, ask JUST TWO. Once you start to see the referrals pay off, you’ll be more encouraged to keep asking!
