Hi, I’m Eric Fisher. I am the owner of 4 salons, a beauty school and a business education company for beauty schools and professionals. I have won a few hair awards, a few business awards, a few industry awards. I have a passion for learning. Because of my own thirst for knowledge, I am also passionate about sharing with all of you. The Eric’s Favs series is just that. Me sharing with you the things I am inspired by right now.
Favorite way to start the new year?
I love to start each January with education for my team. January a slower service time and everyone is tired from the exhausting pace of the holiday months. Providing education energizes and inspires everyone. I firmly believe that learning is the key to happiness. And when learning stops, boredom and complacency set it.
Each January for the last 12+ years, top artists in the beauty industry are invited to come to Wichita, Kansas. The Eric Fisher Salon stylists and Eric Fisher Academy team are provided with two days of inspiration and education. This year is obviously an exception. It doesn’t mean our learning stops. Instead, we host smaller groups for our training a couple of nights during the week and hope to resume the Eric Fisher Summit experience next year!
Favorite products to combat dry skin and hair?
Kérastase Nutritive Magistral is a great line for hair that is severely dehydrated. The Magistral shampoo and conditioner are two vital products that should be in your regimen as an intense hydrating ritual. This line is great for its soothing qualities. It calms the scalp, and forms a protective layer on the hair, preventing moisture loss and boosting shine. For thicker hair, the Creme Magistral Leave In Conditioner is a miracle worker!
To energize dry, winter skin, the estheticians at Eric Fisher Salon recommend the Image Skin Care line. Vital C cleanser is a creamy cleanser that removes makeup and impurities while retaining moisture. The Vital C Ant-Aging Serum add brightness and locks in hydration with hyaluronic acid. Finally, the Vital C Intense Moisturizer contains Shea Butter which replenishes hydration and shields dehydrated skin against dryness.
haircut trend you see coming in 2021
I am predicting a trend toward very natural hair. Think afros and the loose natural hair of the 70’s, shags, curtain bangs. I think pixie cuts will continue to trend as women are embracing easy, manageable hair. Fashion is moving towards the looks of the 70’s and 80’s and I think hair will be doing that as well.
January is the month we tend to set goals and resolutions so we are starting with a clean slate! I believe that in order to achieve your goals, you MUST write them down. I recommend writing them down as if you’ve already accomplished them. Write them down every day. This will help you to focus on your goals and remind you of what you can accomplish.
